MONTIGO RESORT, BATAM (PART I)

This trip is such an enjoyable one that I couldn't give it a miss on not blogging about it! Although my last post may be dated more than a year back and no one else is reading, this post is worthy to be for memory sake :) Or even if anyone is interested about getting more information. I highly recommend this resort!

Firstly, we booked Montigo Resorts for 4 pax probably about 4 weeks in advance via their site directly. To our surprise, prices were cheaper on Montigo's site instead of the usual sites we'd go for such as Agoda, Bookings.com etc.
Each of us paid SGD 262, which includes a 3d2n stay (SGD 216) here + 2 way ferry transport (SGD 46) via Batam Fast.
We were so thrilled to get such a good deal! If I'm not wrong it was because we booked the resort way in advance.

Although Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal was extremely far for 3/4 of us, but we did not have a choice because this is the only terminal that ferries to Nongsa, Batam.

Upon reaching Nongsa Terminal in Batam after 45 mins, we were greeted with a smile from the shuttle bus driver. He insisted carrying my luggage for me despite me not needing any help. Very good first impression, indeed. Nongsa Terminal to Montigo Resort is less than 5 mins away! Whatsmore there is free shuttle bus provided.

The villa typed we book was Hill Top Villa.
First floor: Living room, Toilet, Kitchen & Mini Bar, Balcony, Private Pool, TV (Wii/ movies)
Second floor:
(1) Master Bedroom- King Size Bed, Sofa Bed, TV, Toilet, Shower, Bath Tub
(2) Guest Bedroom- Twin Beds, TV, Toilet
Third Floor: Open space balcony

The best thing is that they have WIFI! We try not use our phones too much though, and just enjoy our relaxing time there away from social media. I gotta say their connection is relatively strong, unlike most places you visit on holiday tends to be weak.

Breakfast Buffet Spread

The resort does not have a beach. So we headed to the nearby Turi Beach to do out water activities, which was about 8 mins drive away. We booked a driver with the help of the receptionist which costed us SGD 10 for a 2 way trip.

*Pics at Turi Beach will be in the next post!*

A downside faced during our stay at Montigo is that there were plenty of moths around. The moths stuck around our balcony, and some even came into our living room and rested on our curtains. It didn't harmed us, but when they started flying, the moths definitely were playing a game of catching with us. We couldn't help but screamed.

Before we booked the place, we didn't come across any reviews regarding these moths. Not too sure if it is just this period of time the presence of these moths would appear. Because I noticed when I returned to SG I encounter a month in my house as well as at Jake's. In any case, their service was really good. When the moths were flying in the balcony, our BBQ cooks (more info in the next post) tried to chase them away from us and even killed one of them. We were stunned. We definitely wasn't expecting that to happen. I'm sure they didn't want to do that either, but looking at how terrified we were they just wanted to provide their service.
